Mint Essential Oil: Safety, How to Use It and Contraindications

19 October, 2026

In short: Mint essential oil is highly concentrated: always dilute it before skin use (about 1–2% for adults, i.e. 6–12 drops in 30 ml of carrier oil), patch-test first and keep it away from eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply it to the face or near the nose of young children, and do not swallow it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and people on medication should ask a doctor first.
